Fall Meeting Program Committee representatives have the responsibility for developing and organizing the entire scientific program. The Program Committee members, under the direction of the Chair, AGU Fall Meeting, are essential to implementing strategies that achieve the AGU Board’s objectives to create innovative and impactful scientific meetings and to develop a dynamic program for the AGU Fall Meeting.

Heidi M. Sosik is a Senior Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and currently serves as a Secretary for AGU’s Ocean Sciences Section. Her research interests focus on regulation of plankton communities, their productivity and response to environmental change and climate factors. She also develops instruments for deployment on ocean observatories.

Dr. Hertzberg is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Old Dominion University in the Department of Ocean, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences. She is researching tropical Pacific climate variability over the millennial-scale climate events of the last glacial period. She was previously a postdoc at UConn Avery Point studying carbon cycle changes during the last deglaciation. Dr. Hertzberg holds a Ph.D. in Oceanography from Texas A&M University. She is a foraminifera enthusiast and tweets at @PaleoForams.

Linda Rowan is Director of External Affairs at UNAVCO. Previously she was Director of Geoscience Policy at the American Geosciences Institute, taught a course on Earth Science and Policy at George Mason University, and worked as an editor at Science Magazine. She has a BS in Geology and in Computer Science/Math from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a MS and PhD in Geology from the California Institute of Technology.

Caroline Beghein is an Associate Professor in the Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences at UCLA. She received her PhD from Utrecht University (2003), a Masters degree (DEA) from the Institut de Physique du Globe in Paris, France (1998), and an undergraduate degree in Physics from the Université de Liège in Belgium (1997). Prior to joining UCLA, she held a postdoctoral research position at the School of Earth and Space Exploration at ASU (2005-2006) and in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences at MIT (2004-2005). She was an IRIS/SSA Distinguished Lecturer (2016) and the recipient of the Arne Richter Outstanding Young Scientist Award (2005). Her research interests include seismic tomography, seismic anisotropy, inverse problems, Monte Carlo methods, normal modes, and surface waves.
