Each year, nearly 5,000 students request to be considered for an Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA). The role of OSPA Liaison is designated by the session convener in order to ensure all students who wish to be considered for an OSPA are evaluated. During the Fall Meeting Session Organizing stage, conveners are asked to designate an OSPA Liaison for each of their sessions.
Liaisons will be contacted by the OSPA Coordinator for their Section and will be responsible for helping fill 3 judging slots for each student in their session. Liaisons should use their professional network in order to ask friends and colleagues to serve as judges. They will receive information from their coordinator as to which students in their session are to be judged for the OSPA. Liaisons may choose to judge students in their session themselves if they do not have a conflict of interest.
There is an online OSPA Portal where liaisons can see the students in their session, track their judge recruitment progress, and ensure that they’ve fulfilled their responsibilities. The OSPA portal will open to Liaisons on 1 November.
