Session Proposal and Abstract Submission Deadlines has passed.

To access the online abstract scheduling tool, Session Conveners who are AGU Members can log in to the Scientific Program User Portal.

Session conveners will receive their session acceptance or rejection notification in early June. Please note that your session may have been moved to and accepted by another more appropriate Section or Focus Group than the one to which it was submitted. If your Program Committee representative needs you to merge with another similar session proposal, they will attempt to contact you via the email address tied to the session, but they have ultimate purview over the sessions in their Section/Focus Group.

If accepted, your session is now available for abstract submissions. You are expected to monitor your session during the submission period specifically for abstracts that clearly do not belong in your session. As a reminder, abstract text will not be viewable to the public during the submission period. For more information, refer to the “Monitoring Abstracts” tab above.

Please note a change in the Invited Author policy for this year, each session will be able to invite up to TWO invited authors for non-Union Sessions. The purpose of the invited author designation is to invite someone who would have otherwise not submitted to your session. There is no limit on the number of invited authors for Union Sessions, but we recommend a maximum of eight (8) authors. Conveners of all sessions can still access the system to invite authors if they have not already. Conveners should refer to the “Invited Author” tab above BEFORE planning their invited authors.

At least ONE of the conveners must be available in late August/early September for the scheduling of your session. Please note, at the discretion of your program committee representative, you may be asked to merge with another session in early to mid-August. Abstract notifications and your sessions’ official scheduled day and time will be sent out on 3 October 2016. After this date, please monitor your session to note withdrawals. More information on scheduling is available in the “After Abstracts” tab above.

Session chairs will receive links to guidelines on how to properly chair a session. These links will also be posted on the website in October.
