Early career investigators (ECIs), loosely defined as senior graduate students through pre-tenure faculty, face many challenges as they develop research tools and establish new collaborations independent of their mentors. In an effort to promote and sustain the success of newly minted scientists, researchers, and educators, IRIS, UNAVCO, and AGU organize practical resources and professional development opportunities that are beneficial to a wide range of early career Earth scientists. The goal is to lower the energy and knowledge barriers and boost the effectiveness, productivity, and quality of life of ECIs.

Please join us to learn about the different opportunities that IRIS and UNAVCO provide for students and ECIs and to provide feedback on the opportunities and resources so we can grow and meet your (and your ECIs) needs in the future. Danielle Sumy (IRIS) and Aisha Morris (UNAVCO) will be available to discuss their career pathways and how they landed job opportunities at non-profit consortia, as early career investigators.
