TH15C. DOE's Interests in Extreme Events

15 December 2014, 6:15 PM - 7:15 PM

Moscone West - Room 2008

Event Type:

Town Hall

The Regional and Global Climate Modeling Program within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) currently has two large projects at DOE laboratories that focus on high-resolution simulations and extreme events, with the ultimate goal of improving understanding and predictability of extreme events, and how they may change in a warmer climate. This town hall provides a forum to engage the research community, discuss DOE’s priorities on extremes, highlight the work being conducted, identify research gaps, and seek community involvement with the development and use of tools to identify, examine, and study extremes.
