San Francisco is accessible by two major airports.  San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest airport to San Francisco and the Moscone Center.  It is one of the 30 busiest airports in the country, with service from over 45 airlines, national and international, and nonstop connections to over 65 U.S. cities.

Oakland International Airport (OAK) is 20 miles from downtown San Francisco and the Moscone Center. OAK has service from 13 different airlines combined for 30 nonstop flights nationally and internationally.

Airline Discounts

Rail Travel

Amtrak offers a 10% discount on the best available rail fare to San Francisco between 1 and 12 December 2011.  To book your reservation, call Amtrak at 1 (800) 872-7245 or contact your local travel agent.

Conventions cannot be booked via the Internet.  Please be sure to refer to Convention Fare Code X85G-928 when making your reservation.  This offer is not valid on the Auto Train or Acela Service.  Fare is valid on Amtrak Regional for all departures 7 days a week, except for holiday blackouts.  Offer valid with Sleepers, Business Class, or First Class seats with payment of the full applicable accommodation charges.

Airport Transportation – Go Green at the Airport!

BART has direct service from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK). The Moscone Center

Fall Meeting events will take place throughout the Moscone Center‘s West, South, and North buildings.  The Moscone Center is located at the edge of the city’s dynamic South of Market district and just four blocks from Union Square, the city’s vibrant shopping district, and the Powell Street cable car to Nob Hill, Chinatown, and Fisherman’s Wharf.

San Francisco is blessed with a temperate marine climate and enjoys mild weather year-round.  Average temperatures in December range from a maximum of 57°F/19°C to 47°F/9°C.  The average rainfall is 3.5”/9 cm.  San Francisco weather can change by the hour, so attendees are advised to pack layers and be sure to have a light jacket or coat and umbrella.
