  • Plan in Advance

    • AGU reserves more than 50 hotels in the city at group discounts. Hotels sell out quickly. The online housing tool will open in mid-August
    • Be sure to register in advance; the online registration tool will open in mid-August. Note: the abstract submission fee and and the registration fee are separate.
    • In addition to the sessions, Fall Meeting offers various networking opportunities, science communication workshops, and other activities for all attendees. Use the Event Calendar, which will be available in October to plan your week.
    • This year’s sessions will be held at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The world-famous attractions of the French Quarter lay just steps away from the convention center, while the historic St. Charles streetcar line runs past the elegant homes of the Garden District.
  • Present Your Research and Attend Events

    • Fall Meeting is the ideal venue for receiving immediate feedback on your research. The abstract submission tool will open in early June.
    • Kick off the meeting with your peers at the Fall Meeting Ice Breaker Reception on Monday, 11 December, and connect with others who specialize in your field during AGU Section and Focus Group events being held on Tuesday, 12 December. Don’t forget the daily breaks with free refreshments!
    • Attention international attendees: Join us at the International Reception to learn more about the latest scientific initiatives. Delegates from our Committee of International Participation and key regions such as South America, Asia, and Europe will be on hand for you to network with and exchange experiences and knowledge. Date and time will be determined in August.
    • Are you a first-time speaker at Fall Meeting? All speakers are required to check into the Speaker Ready Room at the convention center at least 24 hours before their presentation. Hours of operation and guidelines will be posted in the Fall.
