Attention: U.S. Federal Government Employees

If you have not yet received government approval to travel to the Fall Meeting, please read the following:

  • For U.S. federal government employees only: The 3 November abstract withdrawal deadline will be extended until the start of the meeting. Important: if you are not able to attend and do not want to withdraw your presentation, please encourage a co-author to present on your behalf. Presenters changes can be submitted to the scientific program team.
  • For U.S. federal government employees only: Pre-registration rates will be extended throughout the Fall Meeting.

Registration for the 2016 Fall Meeting includes all keynote and breakout sessions; communication, educational outreach, and career workshops; access to non-ticketed events; daily refreshment breaks; and access to all presentations.

Save on hotel rates by booking through AGU’s Housing Bureau. Hotels sell out quickly; reserve now to stay at the hotel of your choice.

Registration Rates for Attendees from Tier 1 and 2 Countries

Discounted registration rates are available to attendees from countries classified by the World Bank as low-income (Tier1) and lower-middle income (Tier 2) economies.  These income classifications are updated each year on 1 July.  Note: Attendees must currently reside in the low-income or lower-middle income country in order to be eligible to receive the registration rate.

Guest Policy

Registered attendees may purchase guest passes at $100 each.  A guest is a spouse, friend, or adult child (18 years old and older) who is not working in a geophysical sciences-related occupation or field.  A colleague or associate working in a related geophysical sciences field or studying geophysics in school may not be registered and attend as a guest.  Registered guests may not attend the scientific sessions; however, they may visit the Exhibit Hall, and attend the Ice Breaker, Honors Ceremony, and all keynote lectures.  Guests may also purchase tickets to social events, including the Honors Banquet, at the advertised rates.

Cancellation Policy

Written notification of registration cancellations must be e-mailed. Registration cancellations received by 3 November 2016 will receive a complete refund. Cancellations received between 4  and 10 November 2016 will have a $50 processing fee deducted from their refund. No refunds will be issued for registrations or ticketed events cancelled after 10 November 2016.
