U.S. Government Entry Requirement for Visa Waiver Program (VWP) Countries
Effective 20 January 2011, citizens of Visa Waiver countries will be unable to enter the United States without Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval from the U.S. Government. VWP travelers who have not obtained approval through ESTA will be denied boarding on any air carrier destined for the United States. For more information, visit the VWP program website.
It is strongly recommended that international participants apply for visas at least 3 months prior to Fall Meeting. Note: Some consulates may have delays in scheduling visa interviews; therefore, applicants should first contact the consulate to determine the wait time for an interview. Letters of Invitation
Please note that if you are submitting an abstract for presentation, a letter of invitation will be distributed via email to your attention. If you are not submitting an abstract and will be a registered scientist attending the meeting, please contact us to request a letter. Please note that we cannot provide letters of invitation to spouses, children, or others who will be accompanying you on the trip but not attending Fall Meeting as registered attendees.

The integrated website allows users to plan trips, create itineraries, and find up-to-the-minute transportation information for anywhere in the Bay Area. Also, plan to take BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) around the city and to/from the airport. Fall Meeting attendees can pre-purchase vouchers for an easy and quick to travel to their hotels. San Francisco is fortunate to have a temperate marine climate and enjoys mild weather year-round. Average maximum temperatures in December range from 57°F/19°C to 47°F/9°C. The average rainfall is 3.5”/9 cm. San Francisco weather can change by the hour, so attendees are advised to pack layers and be sure to have a light jacket or coat and umbrella.
United Airlines: Information about how to obtain a discount via United Airlines will be posted in summer 2016. San Francisco is accessible by two major airports. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest airport to San Francisco and the Moscone Center. It is one of the 30 busiest airports in the country, with service from more than 45 airlines, national and international, and nonstop connections to more than 65 U.S. cities. Oakland International Airport (OAK) is 20 miles from downtown San Francisco and the Moscone Center. OAK has service from 13 different airlines combined, for 30 nonstop flights nationally and internationally.

The Moscone Center
Fall Meeting events will take place throughout the Moscone Convention Center. The center is located at the edge of the city’s dynamic South of Market district and just four blocks from Union Square, the city’s vibrant shopping district, and the Powell Street cable car to Nob Hill, Chinatown, and Fisherman’s Wharf.
