Event Type:

Town Hall

NASA’s Soil Moisture Active/Passive (SMAP) Mission, due to launch 8 January 2015, will provide global information on surface soil moisture, freeze/thaw states for boreal landscapes, and net ecosystem exchange of carbon. SMAP has a vibrant applications program that works to foster how SMAP mission data products can be integrated into users’ policy, business, and management activities to improve decision-making efforts. This town hall will provide an update to the community on mission events and workshops, address different uses of the mission’s test algorithm, discuss the Early Adopter program and application process, and provide information on SMAP scheduled data release.
