Hurricanes, extratropical storms, torrential rain, and now light rain and snowfall—the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) is able to see it all. In February 2014, NASA and JAXA launched the GPM Core Observatory, which unifies an international constellation of satellites to provide precipitation data sets for the whole world every 3 hours. Join us to learn more about this exciting new mission, the unprecedented detail of its new instruments, how to obtain the data, and the broad range of societal applications GPM data supports.
