Looking to Host a Meeting? Meeting space requests are now open.

Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first served basis. Confirmations are expected to be sent out to all applicants in mid-September.

After confirming an event, AGU will reserve the room with the venue and places the group in contact with the appropriate catering and audio-visual representatives. The group will work directly with those service providers and be responsible for all expenses associated with the event. All confirmed events will also have the opportunity to have their meeting posted in the list of AGU Fall Meeting events.

Important Note: AGU policy outlines that requests from commercial institutions will not be accepted. Rooms will be available to for-profit/companies only if they are an official Fall Meeting sponsor. For detailed information about Fall Meeting sponsorship, please contact Christy Hanson at chanson@agu.org.

Please note that we cannot confirm space for groups that expect to exceed more than 30 attendees during the following times/events:

  • Scientific Sessions: 9-13 December; 0800 – 1220h and 1340h – 1800h
  • AGU Presidential Forum: 9 December; 1230h – 1330h
  • Icebreaker Reception: 9 December; 1800h – 2000h
  • Union Agency Lecture: 10 December; 1230h – 1330h
  • Honors Ceremony and Banquet: 11 December; 1800h – 2300h
  • Frontiers of Geophysics Lecture: 12 December; 1230h – 1330h

Additionally, please note that the highly-attended Section/Focus Group Business Meetings/Social Events will take place 10 December; 1830h – 2000h.

There is a $100 room rental fee; per day, per room. Payment is required by 6 August. There is no penalty for cancellations received prior to 1 November. Due to AGU’s contractual obligations to its vendors, no refunds will be issued after that date.
