Very interesting (& scary) talk! What about the reverse scenario: oceanic effects on the atmosphere. Would an increasingly acidic ocean represent a sink term for atmospheric hydroxyl ions, and if so, could that significantly increase the lifetime & concentration of trace GHGs such as methane, thereby exacerbating the warming effects of enhanced CO2?
Thanks very much – Steve M (JPL)
