Looking to Host a Meeting?
AGU offers groups attending the Fall Meeting the opportunity to reserve a meeting room during the conference. Meeting rooms will be available 3 – 7 December (Monday – Friday) at the Moscone Center and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.
All applications are reviewed on a first come, first served basis. Confirmations will be sent to all applicants in mid-September.
After confirming an event, AGU will reserve the room with the venue and put the group in contact with the appropriate catering and audio-visual representatives. The group will work directly with those service providers and be responsible for all expenses associated with the event. All confirmed events will also have the opportunity to have their meeting posted in the list of AGU Fall Meeting events.
There is a $100 room rental fee; per day, per room. Payment is required by 14 August. There is no penalty for cancellations received prior to 12 October. Due to AGU’s contractual obligations to its vendors, no refunds will be issued after that date.
We are unable to confirm space for groups with an expected attendance over 30 during the following times/events:
- Scientific Sessions: 3-7 December; 0800h – 1220h and 1340h – 1800h
- AGU Presidential Forum: 3 December; 1230h – 1330h
- Union Agency Lecture: 5 December; 1230h – 1330h
- Honors Ceremony and Reception: 5 December; 1900h – 2130h
- Frontiers of Geophysics Lecture: 6 December; 1230h – 1330h
- Honors Banquet: 6 December; 2000h – 2300h
Additionally, the highly-attended Section and Focus Group Business Meetings/Social Events will take place 4 December; 1830h – 2000h. Limited space will be available at that time.
AGU policy outlines that requests from commercial institutions will not be accepted. Rooms will be available to for-profit/companies only if they are an official Fall Meeting sponsor.
