A new event – DEEPSEA CHALLENGE: New Science and Technology at Extreme Depths – has been added to the Fall Meeting schedule. The DEEPSEA CHALLENGE Expedition, a series of dives to investigate the New Britain and Mariana Trenches, was mounted by James Cameron and a team of engineers, scientists and educators supported by National Geographic and Rolex.
The panel discussion will feature talks by:
- James Cameron, National Geographic Explorer-In-Residence
- Douglas Bartlett, Microbiologist, Scripps Institution of Oceanography
- Patricia Fryer, Geologist, University of Hawaii
- Kevin Hand, Astrobiologist, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory
